Cyber safety

​Manly West State School has policies that address online safety and cyberbullying. If concerns arise, please contact your child’s classroom teacher or the school office.​
What to do if something goes wrong online 

  1. Stop — don’t respond to hurtful messages or posts.
  2. Collect evidence — take screenshots and note usernames/links.
  3. Block and report in-app — use the platform’s report tools.
  4. Tell an adult — speak with a parent/carer and your classroom teacher.
  5. Get further help — if it continues or is serious:

Student expectations

  • Keep your personal details private (name, address, phone, school, passwords).
  • Never share your account or password with anyone.
  • Be respectful — do not post or share anything mean, nasty or hurtful.
  • Don’t share photos or videos of others without their permission.
  • Never meet in person with someone you only know online.
  • Don’t be a bystander — tell an adult if you or someone else is being bullied.
